Genetic Analysis Report

The Genetic Analysis by HeredityLab examines regions in your genome that allow us to decipher where your ancestors originated. Characteristics related to the ancestral informative markers in genotyped regions of your genome give a window into relation to population data contained in our system. You will receive a .pdf of the report, sent to your email, along with a supplementary .html file. These contain information pertaining to the ethnic groups, regions of origin, and percentages of each region as a breakdown of the ethnic group classifications. The .html file contains the dendrogram, closest populations tables, a 2D interactive PCA, and a 3D interactive PCA. Valuable insight into your genome awaits.

Three Different Reports

The types of reports offered are the General Genetic Report, Jewish Diaspora Genetic Report, and Central Asian Genetic Report. The General report is for all populations, the Jewish Diaspora report expresses the modern section of the results in terms of Jewish ethnic groups, while the Central Asian report expresses the modern section of the results in terms of Central Asian ethnic groups. The latter two reports are specialized for these two communities, since if they are expressed in terms of general modern populations there will be a substantial amount of attribution to other populations. For example, Central Asians on typical mainstream genetic tests are sometimes expressed as a mixture of Mongolian, Eastern European, and Iranian, whereas in the case of this specialized test they are expressed in terms of Central Asian ethnic groups. For these two specialized genetic tests (Jewish Diaspora and Central Asian), it is recommended that the user be, at minimum, 25% from one of the ethnic groups within those two broad categories, otherwise the results will not be as informative as intended.

These three categories of reports are all priced the same. The type of report is selected when you are uploading your genome file.

Each report includes the following ancestry levels: Modern, Neolithic, Paleolithic, Archaic, along with a chart of results that were not factored into your main ancestry analysis. A supplementary file is also included with a 2D PCA, 3D PCA, Dendrogram, and series of genetic heatmap tables which indicate genetic closeness to ancient populations which post-date the Neolithic era and include Bronze Age, Iron Age, and Medieval groups.
